Beyonce spreads holiday cheer through her charity BeyGood, foundation. The pop star, announced Tuesday, her supported of 5k grants to 100 individual facing evictions on December, 26th due to the covid-19 pandemic and eviction moratoriums, expiring December 26th.
The grants are directed to applicants struggling to pay rent or lost their jobs during the pandemic. Interested applications are required to send documents to the NAACP. Recipients will be announced Jan. 7 2021.
In mid-March, the government authorized mandatory restrictions, and shut downs of non essential businesses and for individuals to self-quarantine. The breakout of covid-19 affected families and most businesses across the nation. Income declines, housing evictions, deaths, and sicknesses of the virus created hardships.
In July, Beyonce also launched her Small Business Impact grant to 250 Black-business owners awarding 10k to qualified applicants.
