3 ways to honor MLK Day

LOS ANGELES—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. impacted the world as he advocated for African Americans in the 1955 civil rights movement. Dr. King’s approach was nonviolence in marches and demonstrations before his assassination in 1968.

Here’s how you can honor his legacy:

  1. Learn

Fighting for racial equality takes insurmountable courage and dedication. Dr. King, worked tirelessly to influence white Americans in honoring equal rights for African Americans including rights to proper education, housing and jobs.

Dr. King’s August 1963 most famous words;

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

2. Personal Tribute

Sharing a personal tribute to honor Dr. King’s legacy is also an impactful way to show the world your appreciation.

Example:

“It takes a brave soul to stand up for what is right, in this world.” “Injustice to one is an injustice to us all.” “This quote rings truth in many facts of existing in a world where people are not judge but the color of their skin but by the content of their character. There have been many improvements to seeing Dr. Kings DREAM come to life in the modern world. But we still have a long way to go.”

“I appreciate the leaders of this world who consistently fight for others with ‘integrity’ making the world a better place.”
